Business Unplugged 2020

Are you an entrepreneur or would you like to start your own business in Finland?

Business Unplugged is an online event for all entrepreneurs and entrepreneurially minded people looking to grow their business and their mindset while being inspired by the entrepreneurial journeys of others. It is especially for those interested to develop their own business or business idea.

At the event you will take part in a workshop of your choice to boost both your business and personal skills, hear exciting stories from other entrepreneurs and celebrate the Migrant Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 who will be awarded a 5 000 euros award. You will also get to hear last year’s winner Faisa Egge’s story from Amanihoiva Kotihoito Oy.

Come and join to energize yourself and your business! The event is organized by Suomen Yrittäjät in co-operation with Google, NewCo and Elo.

Faisa Egge

Founder and CEO of Amanihoiva Kotihoito Oy

Faisa Egge won the Migrant Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 award. She is the founder and CEO of Amanihoiva Kotihoito Oy from Central Ostrobothnia. Her company offers home care services to seniors and personal assistance to the disabled in their own homes. Faisa came to Finland in 2008 from Kenya with just two suitcases. She started her career collecting bottles for refunds and working in a pizzeria. In 2012 she became an entrepreneur.

Ali Giray

Founder of Joensuun Tulkkikeskus Arife Oy

Ali Giray is a serial entrepreneur and the chairman of the Migrant Entrepreneur Network’s Management Team. Ali has worked as an entrepreneur in many different fields from the restaurant business to the world of digital economy. He is an active member of society and is not afraid to use his voice. Ali’s mission is to make Finland a more welcoming country to migrant entrepreneurs.

Mikael Pentikäinen

CEO of Suomen Yrittäjät

Mikael Pentikäinen has been the Managing Director of Suomen Yrittäjät since 2016. He took over the position after being the Editor-in-Chief of the Maaseudun Tulevaisuus magazine. He has previously worked as the publisher and corresponding Editor-in-Chief at Helsingin Sanomat. During Pentikäinen's term Helsingin Sanomat changed from broadsheet to tabloid. After his career at Helsingin Sanomat, Pentikäinen became an entrepreneur and wrote a book called Luottamus (Trust). In the book, Pentikäinen shares his views on what trust is and how everyone can build it in their own lives.

I am currently the CEO of Elo, one of the largest Finnish pension insurance companies, with a broad customer base and investment assets of more than 23 billion euros. During my long career, I have worked in the private and public sector both with large and small companies and institutional clients.
