Finland’s Largest Entrepreneur Event

Entrepreneur Days are here with two days of inspirational speakers, networking, and all-around entertainment in Turku, Finland. Over 2000 entrepreneurs are expected from all around Finland and other countries. 

We offer you the best weekend of the year. The key benefits are for your own business, meetings with fellow entrepreneurs, entertainment and refreshment, and also gaining new information.

The National Entrepreneur Days in Finland will be held at the Turku Fair Center on October 19–20, 2018. The theme of the Days is “Step Forward”.

Diverse Program

On Friday you will have an opportunity to get to know Turku better by taking one of the two organized tours: to Meyer shipyard or a Movie Walk that takes you to the best locations of movies shot in the City of Turku. You can also visit the “Joki” Visitor and Innovation Center, where there is an interactive display of the industries and expertise of Southwest Finland. You can also hear presentations about Turku Business Region and it's maritime projects and to have individual program by your wishes. In the evening you can take part in the welcoming party of the event, which also doubles as a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Association of Southwest Finland Enterprises.  

On Saturday there will be three parallel sessions in the event program. One of them is the international program, which will be for Finnish and foreign companies and will be held in English. The program features company success stories on the theme of internationalization. You can also meet representatives from city authorities in various countries and ask them about doing business in their country. You can have one-to-one meetings with potential business partners and hear how you can join the network of subcontractors for the marine and construction industries. Saturday will be crowned by the Gala evening, where entrepreneurship will be celebrated; there will be networking, good food, dancing and having fun, and Finland’s National Entrepreneur Awards for 2018 will also be presented.

The program on the first day, Friday, is in Finnish. It includes, for example, the general assembly and trips around Turku. On the second day, we have exciting talks, interviews, and panels. Language of the international program is English. We end the night in style, with the National Entrepreneur Awards ceremony and the gala.

Welcome to the general assembly

FFE’s general assembly is where the chairperson and vice chairpersons are chosen for the next two-year term. Furthermore, we go over the 2017 annual report and financial statement and agree on the action plan and budget for 2019. Members are represented by general assembly representatives.

The assembly is held in Finnish, and it is open to everyone.

  • 13:00-13:30 – What are municipalities like in the future, and where do we see entrepreneurs? (Amphitheater), Esko Poikela, Mayor, Municipality of Lieto
  • 13:45-14:30 – Start up - Restartup - Stay up - Stand up (Amphitheater) – Why Startup? What means Restartup? Which one is better? Come to find out and to take part to the discussion.
    • Hear what professionals have to say around the subjects, take part to the discussion. The discussion is moderate by journalist of Kauppalehti and author Elina Lappalainen.
  • 14:00-14:45 – Tomorrow’s Self-Steering Ships and Possibilities in Artificial Intelligence (Cave theater), Iiro Lindborg, General Manager, Remote and Autonomous Solutions, Rolls-Royce
  • 15:00-15:30 – FuckUp Night (Amphitheater)
    • The international “FuckUp Night” concept has landed in Turku. In the amphitheater, three local entrepreneurs tell their stories of failure. These are stories that provide us all with peer support and opportunities for learning.
  • 15:00-15:45 – The hits and failures of Startups (Cave theater) – Only few of the funded Startups succeed. Journalist Elina Lappalainen will reveal the succeed and failed ones.
  • 15:00 – Theme Ultrahack: How and entrepreneur can take an advantage on hackathon? (Cave theater), Olli Ojala, Turku Science Park

On the second floor of the Visitor and Innovation Centre, you can check out visions for future developments in Turku and the surrounding areas in the City of Turku’s city development space. Various projects and visions are on display, and they are presented in actual realizations, on touch screens, and on video.

On the third floor, you can recharge, both your devices and yourself, relax, or reply to some emails, as well as watch a livestream of the Federation of Finnish Enterprises’ general assembly taking place at the Turku Fair Center.

The Grandest 40th Anniversary in Finland – Welcoming Celebration for the Entrepreneur Days

As FFE’s Southwest division turns 40, join us in celebrating the grandest 40th anniversary in Finland at the Turku Fair Center. We have everything you would expect on a 40th birthday. Over these 40 years, we have collected so much of everything that presents are unnecessary. What’s important to us is that you join us in celebrating this momentous day. What’s a general assembly?

The general assembly is the main governing body in the Federation of Finnish Enterprises, where members are represented by general assembly representatives. In the general assembly, we go over the annual report and financial statement and agree on the next year’s action plan and budget. Every other year, a new chairperson and vice chairpersons are chosen.

Where are the National Entrepreneur Days held next year?

In 2019, the Days take place in Lahti, and in 2020 in Jyväskylä.

How does one-to-one meeting tool work?

You can have one-to-one meetings with potential business partners during the event on 19.-20.10. A networking tool, called Brella, will be used for this. 
Please, register beforehand for BtoB-meetings via Brella. One-to-one meetings will be organised at the Turku Fair Center on the 2nd floor in meeting room 3.  

How does the tool work?
